Assistant Editor

Local or Remote: Full-Time Contractor

DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an in-house Assistant Editor with experience in Adobe Premiere Pro.

We are a full-service creative agency that specializes in delivering leading-class video marketing content across various digital platforms. We are a collective of young artists who love to collaborate and work together to produce art. We are seeking individuals with similar interests to join our team.

As an Assistant Editor, you will be responsible for organizing and managing existing and new digital media recordings during productions.

Your role will also include reviewing raw footage and organizing it for easy access both locally and online, compiling requested footage, and preparing projects for lead editors within Adobe Premiere Pro. 

You might also be required to collaborate with the production team in crafting creative and engaging video content and create cutdowns of existing content as needed. You must maintain an organized workflow, keep to deadlines, and receive and incorporate feedback from our Creative Director and Account Manager throughout the review process. 

You will work directly with other creatives on our team and report to our Creative Director and Account Manager. The Account Manager will provide you with project briefs designed by the Creative Director. As new requests arrive, it is your responsibility to gather all files required for the project and package them for a lead editor to edit.

It is imperative that you are extremely thoughtful in your work and that you pay attention to every detail throughout your processes.

It is extremely important for us to find an Assistant Editor who has the ability to work well with others and who understands the importance of organization.

ABOUT YOU
You have great hand-eye coordination, physical stamina, visual skills, and proficiency in non-linear editing programs like Adobe Premiere Pro. You are a people person who has the ability to build relationships, communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and provide outstanding customer service.

You thrive on planning, organizing, juggling multiple priorities, and taking initiative in order to meet deadlines. You are flexible, autonomous, and always looking for ways to improve your performance. Your solution-focused approach encourages you to think outside the box.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • ​Preparing elements for delivery to lead editors
  • ​Assist Lead Editors with ingesting, formatting and syncing of incoming raw footage
  • ​Help create video assets for social platforms
  • ​Manage media of all footage and files
  • ​Inserting subtitles and syncing audio files
  • ​Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • ​Ability to manage a variety of tasks with a high degree of prioritization
  • ​Managing calendars and emails
  • ​Overseeing and organizing various projects
  • ​Responsible for delivering timely, effective, and high-quality results
  • Self-starter who works well with others
  • ​Effective communicator with enthusiasm for handling tasks
  • ​Ensure confidentiality, discretion, and judgment when dealing with critical and sensitive information and documents
  • ​Flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing circumstances whenever necessary, with a positive and unflappable disposition

HIGHLY DESIRED BUT NOT NECESSARY
  • ​An understanding of project management software, such as Trello or Slack, is desirable, but not essential
  • Proficient in the entire Adobe Creative Cloud suite
